Appropriate to their roots, ASICS has often borrowed from Japanese culture for many of their recent releases. With the Monozukuri collection, the footwear brand is infusing the age-old adage — “making of things” — into the fibers of their core runners. Debuted alongside the GEL-Lyte III last year, the pack is soon to further evolve this month thanks to the GEL-Kayano 14 and GEL-Kayano Trainer 21.
Though they exist in the same universe, the two silhouettes couldn’t be any more different. The GEL-Kayano 14, whose re-release was only mere months ago, has opted for a rather dark palette. Black shades polish the tumbled leathers throughout, while bright white details the side’s tiger stripes, the counter’s additional overlays, and the tassel that accessorizes adjacent. In contrast, the Trainer 21 effectively flips its counterpart’s scheme. Cream tones take over the base as well as the more robust paneling over top, leaving just a fraction of room for the darker accents.
Grab a solid look at both options right here. A release is currently set to hit ASICS.com next week.
In other news, another Ivy Park UltraBoost is on the way.
