Over the course of the last three decades, the Nike Air Huarache has slowly strayed away from Tinker Hatfield’s initial vision. And while not uncommon to see the sneaker in different materials, its latest spin-off — the Huarache Runner — is making said execution standard.
A somewhat sleeker, more contemporary update to the 32-year-old icon, the Nike Huarache Runner boasts a completely reworked upper. In addition to subbing out neoprene for mesh, the fixture’s every detail — such as the heel clip as well as the leather and suede paneling — have undergone near comprehensive redesigns. The general shape of the shoe as well as its sole unit, however, are unmistakably borrowed from the original.
Enjoy a first look at the Nike Huarache Runner via the official images below. These are slated to release on July 6th via select retailers as well as Nike.com.
In other news, adidas recently released the adiFom Stan Smith Mule.
